The choir has existed since 1996 and it specializes in singing Gregorian Chant. However it performs early polyphony and traditional monodic and polyphonic songs. It was established on priest Stanisław Juraszek’s initiative, the lover of chorale and splendid liturgy. The members of the group are professional musicians as well as just experienced singers: Paweł Bartosz, Marcin Juraszek, Rafał Kanowski, Edward Kawka, Dariusz Kowalski, Rafał Lip, Miłosz Pawlik, Wojciech Radziejewski, Dominik Ślosarczyk, Sławomir, Sylwester and Tomasz Witkowski brothers and Filip Zduńczyk. The permanent associate is the prominent Cracovian organist Krzysztof Pawlisz. He has finished Academy of Music in Cracow degree in Julian Gembalski’s class and Lyon Music Conservatory in Jean Boyer’s class. Moreover, he studied in Amsterdam. Nowadays, he teaches organ play and improvisation in The Pontifical Academy of Theology and is the organist in Missionaries Church in Stradom, in Cracow. The music conductor is Sławomir Witkowski, the cantor of St Jadwiga parish. He graduated the Music Academy in Katowice and improved his knowledge and skills under supervision of Marcel Pérès from France, Lycourgos Angelopoulos from Greece, Bernard Sawicki OSB (abbot in Benedictine Abbey in Tyniec), Marcin Bornus-Szczyciński and Robert Pożarski (outstanding Polish cantors and chorale experts). He runs a radio program concerning Gregorian Chant broadcast on Radio eM. The main goal of the choir is liturgy singing. From 1996 to 2005 the members helped in the organization of regular Gregorian Masses in St Barbara church in Chorzów. The partnership with St Benedict Liturgy Centre in Chorzów results in annual chorale workshop and monthly Sunday’s or special celebrations’ eve liturgy. Apart from liturgy, the choir also performs by showing interesting programmes connected with the liturgical year. It was often invited to grace both church and urban ceremonies (such as annual men’s pilgrimage in Piekary Śląskie, in the Cathedral in Katowice, on the First Congress of Liturgical Music Archdiocese of Katowice, during 75th anniversary celebrations of Music Academy in Katowice and ceremonial sessions of Town Council in Chorzów. They collaborated with prof. Julian Gembalski, Józef Skrzek, saxophonist Krzysztof Kapel and other choirs like Bornus Consort and Schola Gregoriana Silesiensis. They performed on many festivals such as IX International Days of Organ and Chamber Music in Olkusz, XIV Caroling Evenings in Tychy, VI festival of “Music in monumental churches and interiors of Duchy of Nysa”, I International Gregorian Music Festival On Skałka "Ars Cantus Gregoriani" in Cracow, XVIII Religious Song Festival “Cantate Domino" in Koszalin, “One God, Many Cultures” in Sanok, “Fide et Amore” in Żory and “Wratislavia Cantans” in Wrocław.
